INDENT1768 Private Sidney Griffiths of Tottenham, London, enlisted in the Sussex Yeomanry as a Trooper, May 1916; transferred to the Household Battalion November 1916 and proceeded to France that month; he was killed in action at Poelcappelle France, 12 October 1917. The short-lived Household Battalion formed in 1916 was disbanded in 1918
7071 Private Neil McDonald of Inverness was killed in action during the Great German March Offensive at Jussy France, 23 March 1918 and is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial. The Official History states "...By 8.30 a.m. Jussy was clear of British troops in spite of a spirited counter-attack by thirty men of the Scots Greys..." Soldiers Died in the Great War show 16 Scots Greys killed in action on the 23 March - the Regiment's heaviest casualties for any one day in the Great War
