INDENTLieutenant Colonel Ernest John Walthew, M.C., born Stockport, Lancashire 1872, was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant Royal Engineers, September 1914, rose to Major 1915 and Lieut. Colonel April 1918 Commanding 46th Division, Royal Engineers. He served in France from January 1917 and took part in a number of engagements including those at Bullecourt, May 1917 and Havrincourt during the advance on Cambrai (M.C. for conspicuous gallantry at the latter action 21 November 1917 - London Gazette 29.1.1918). Lieutenant Walthew was killed in action while carrying out a reconaissance near Bethune 22 May 1918 and is buried at Fouquinères

Lieutenant Raymond Brocklehurst Angus, born 1888 Westminster, London, was killed in action, Gallipoli, 22 September 1915. He previously served in Egypt and was twice Mentioned in Despatches
