INDENT M.C. London Gazette 26.9.1916 Citation 9.1.1918 "Lieutenant F.B. Wynne-Williams, Welsh Guards (Spec. Res.) attached Guards Machine Gun Regiment. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Although buried by hostile shell fire in a dug-out in an unconscious condition, he refused to be sent back from the line, and insisted on remaining in charge of his men during the whole of the next day until he was relieved."
Lieutenant Freke Bulkeley Wynne Williams, born 1896, educated at Marlborough College (Register 1843-1933), was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant 23rd Bn. London Regiment, October 1914; transferred to the Welsh Guards and is shown as employed with the Machine Gun Corps, October 1915; he served with the B.E.F. at various times from February 1916 to March 1919 (Gassed, 12.10.1917)
