Lot Essay

INDENTPrivate C.H.Quayle M.M., enlisted in the Liverpool Regiment late 1915 and was sent overseas with the 2/10th Bn. February 1917. In a raid referred to as "Dickie's Dash" the 2/10th Bn. attacked enemy positions on the Bridoux Salient in the Armentières Sector 29 June, 1917; during this "Dash" Private Quayle 'distinguished himself by an act of bravery' for which he was awarded the M.M. (McGilchrist's History of the Liverpool Scottish and the Regimental History refers)
