INDENT Second Lieutenant Frederick Hughes of Chester, enlisted into the Liverpool Scottish as a Private 9 November, 1914 and took part in the famous charge made by the Bn. at Hooge in June following; promoted Corporal, then Sergeant and was commissioned into the Bn. May, 1918; he fought in the trenches around the Festubert-Givenchy Sector, was wounded in a German counter-attack 22 September, 1918 - lost an eye, but survived the war.
2903 Private James Theckeston, born Birkenhead, proceeded overseas early 1915 and died of wounds 5 June (shown as killed in action by War Graves Commission.) He was buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension, France
5165/356592 Private Bryce Thompson, born 1884 at Bootle, enlisted in the Liverpool Scottish 23 August, 1915. He was killed in action during the assault on Guillimont 9 August, 1916 and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
