INDENT Captain Michael Day Wade Maude, born 1890 Yorkshire, educated at Sedbergh School and Agricultural College, entered the Yorkshire Regiment as 2nd Lieutenant, 1913 was advanced to Lieutenant May, 1914 and Captain February, 1915; accompanied the 2nd Bn. to Zeebrugge October, 1914 and fought during the 1st Battle of Ypres, the operations on the Somme October 1916 and at Arras April 1917 (twice Mentioned in Despatches). He died October, 1917 from wounds received at the Battle of Menin Road Ridge 20 September, 1917 while commanding 'B' Company
