INDENT 9287 Private George Walmesley, born, lived and enlisted in Preston, Lancashire, served in South Africa, 1899-1902 and proceeded overseas to the Western Front, September 1914 with the 2nd Bn. Lancashire Fusiliers; he transferred to the 1st Bn. and was ordered to Gallipoli, where he was killed in action at Gully Ravine, 28 June 1915
