INDENT 1584 Private Thomas Albert Smith was killed in action during the 'Lancashire Landing', 25 April 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula. Three Companies and the H.Q. of the 1st Lancashire Fusiliers after effecting a landing were met by intense deadly fire from hidden Turkish machine guns, causing a great number of casualties.
