Lot Essay

INDENTSecond Lieutenant Norman Claud Hatch, educated at the Oratory School, Edgbaston and in Switzerland, enlisted with the York Hussars, transferring to the 10th Bn. Royal Fusiliers; he was commissioned into the South Lancashire Regiment and whilst attached to the 2nd Bn. he was killed in action on the Somme leading 'C' Company in an attack on the German trenches 21 October 1916, and was buried in Pozières British Cemetery, France.
