INDENTCaptain William Arthur Rowe Carter was killed in action "shot through the head leading his company in an attack at Ypres, 23 April 1915" (Regimental History pp.53 ff. and Ruvigny's Roll of Honour refer).

Captain Spencer Thompson M.C., was wounded 15 April 1917 and nine days later was killed in action during a forced retirement near Monchy Le Preux 24 April 1917 (M.C. London Gazette 4.6.1917) (Memorial of Old Dunelmians p.62 refers).

Second Lieutenant Sydney James Bell died 13 October 1915, of wounds received 25 September 1916.

Second Lieutenant Edgar Francis Hutchinson died of wounds 24 May 1915 received during a gas attack by the Germans at Ypres (Regimental History pp.126-127 and Bond of Sacrifice p.244 refer).

Captain Henry Neville Bascombe Harrison M.V.O. while acting as guide for the 4th King's Royal Rifles, was shot close to the Ypres - St Eloi road and died in hospital near Poperinghe 16 March 1915 (Regimental History and KRRC Chronicle refer).

Lieutenant/Temporary Captain Eric Newton was killed in action at Nanyati, East Africa, 5 August 1917, whilst attached to Sidi Basha Camp.
