INDENTCaptain Edward Cook Archbold, born at Gibraltar 20 November 1800, was commissioned Cornet, 20 May 1820, and served as A.D.C. to the Governor General, Bengal Garrison, from November 1823; Lieutenant and Extra Assistant to the Resident at Nagpur, 1824; took part in the First Burma War 1824-25 including the action at Kokein, 15 December 1824 (wounded); was present at the siege and capture of Bhurtpoor, January 1826; Deputy Paymaster at Benares, 1828, Captain 1835, and resigend his commission 1 February 1836.
