The comb-back, waved toprail and cabriole legs are characteristic of Thames Valley Windsor armchairs in the period 1775 - 1800. The cabriole legs are more often found on hoop-backed chairs, but another chair combining them with a comb-back is illustrated in Dr. B. Cotton, The English Regional Chair, Woodbridge, 1990, p. 48, fig. TV24
