A KATANA, the blade broad shobuzukuri, takashinogi, iorimune and torii-zori with o-itame hada, wih several kizu, midare hamon of sunagashi, komaru boshi and osuriage nakago with three mekugi-ana, unsigned, 14th/15th century, 70.7cm. long; in black lacquer scabbard with impressed asanoha pattern sprinkled with a little mijingainuri, with soft-metal kojiri and kuchigane, (kurikata missing), iron fuchi-kashira and tsuba; and a chiisa-katana, the blade honzukuri, iorimune, chugissaki and very shallow torii-zori with itame-masame hada, pointed gonome hamon of nioi, hakkakeru boshi and ubu nakago, inscribed Yamato Daijo Fujiwara Masanori, on the reverse Higo no Kami Fujiwara Masakatsu, but Mino Seki school, 18th/19th century, 48.6cm. long; in mijingainuri scabbard with lacquered horn soritsuno, yamagane kogai and kozuka with gilt paulownia sprays, the hilt with Mino-Goto fuchi-kashira depicting insects and autumn flowers, the copper tsuba decorated in katakiribori with a man poling a boat, on the reverse wild geese alighting, "rakugan", (hilt probably associated) (2)
