From the end of the last century the Pilgrim's Way on the North Downs became a favourite location of the artist, especially during the Srping time. The old yew trees and the many varieties of wild flowers often feature in her paintings. It is possible this painting was exhibited at thomas Agnew & Sons' annual exhibition in 1901 and 1902
