2 volumes, 4° (335 x 274mm.). 96 plates, comprising: 1 uncoloured engraved portrait of the Duke of Gloucester (somewhat spotted), 64 fine hand-coloured aquatint views by Stadler, Havell, Bluck and others after Pugin, Mackenzie, Westall and others, 15 hand-coloured costume plates and 16 hand-coloured portraits of the founders (without half-titles). Contemporary calf, panelled in gilt and blind, spines in five compartments with double raised bands, lettered in three, the others tolled in gilt and blind, g.e. (sections of joints repaired, other sections slightly split slightly affecting spine of volume I). Provenance: Sir Thomas Woollaston White, 1st Baronet, of Walling Wells, near Worksop (armorial bookplate).
