2 volumes, 4° (340 x 280mm.), half-titles, 6pp. list of subscribers and 115 plates including uncoloured portrait of Lord Grenville, 33 hand-coloured portraits of the founders, 17 hand-coloured plates of costume of the University and 64 fine hand-coloured aquatint views by Stadler, Havell and others after Pugin, Mackenzie, Nash and Westall (some offsetting onto text and tissue guards). Contemporary russia, sides panelled in gilt and blind with gilt-tooled borders, g.e. (rebacked preserving original gilt backstrips; spine, corners and edges slightly rubbed).
