Oblong 2° (300 x 440mm.), engraved throughout, 25 leaves including title within rococo border incorporating 7 putti holding various tools of the writing-masters art and 24 fine plates, one for each letter of the alphabet (no J or W required) all by Lorenzo Lorenzi after Poggi (title and last plate spotted and soiled with marginal tears repaired; edges dust soiled throughout, 9 plates affected by spots or stains). Recent vellum-backed boards and endpapers, uncut, indelible ownership stamp in lower blank margin of title and similar smaller stamp on one plate. Berlin Kat 5295; Bonacini 1453.
