Originally issued with letterpress, map and plate in printed wrappers, see Abbey Life 496 "Colonel (later General Sir Frederick) Trench originated the Thames Embankment. A bill was presented to parliament and the plan pressed forward, but failed through lack of support and strong opposition. It was revived, and work started in 1864". The panorama shows the riverside as it appeared in 1825 including Westminster, Waterloo, Blackfriars, Southwark and London Bridges.
