Large 2°(545 x 355mm.). 1pp list of subscribers, one uncoloured lithographed plate, 33 fine hand-coloured lithographed plates by John and Elizabeth Gould, and Edward Lear, printed by C.Hullmandel (title and a few plates lightly spotted, imprint of one plate cropped, some light offsetting onto text). Contemporary full dark green morocco, gilt, covers with broad shell and leaf tool borders, spine gilt in six sections, gilt inner dentelles, g.e. (upper corners and upper joint very lightly rubbed).
