Lot Essay

The Hon. Frederick Orde-Powlett (1849-1858) was the third son of William, 3rd Lord Bolton, and his wife, Laetitia Crawford. The Hon. Jean Mary (1848-1931) was their only daughter, who married Hon. Augustus Murray Cathcart, J.P., son of the 2nd Earl of Cathcart, a Colonel in the Grenadier Guards and veteran of the Crimean War.
