4°(285 x 225mm.) including supplement. Titles and text in Dutch, English, German, French and Latin, hand-coloured engraved frontispiece and 106 plates depicting numerous cross-sections of European and exotic woods, all elaborately hand-coloured (ex library stamp on verso of title). Contemporary mottled calf, gilt (rebacked, old spine neatly laid down, corners restored). Nissen ZBI 939; Landwehr 84.

An attractive 'cabinet' of woods. Sepp based this work on Michael Seligmann's Abbildung in- undausländischer Hölzer, Nuremberg, 1773-78, and 'added some 42 plates which show especially timbers from the West Indies, drawn from the Cabinet of Reverend Hazeu at Rotterdam. Eighty samples were then taken from the collection of Martinus Houttyn who added a new title-page' (Landwehr).
