Lot Essay

With the kind assistance of the Wildenstein Institute we have been able to trace that the present work was one of twenty-six watercolours which were offered for sale in the early 1950s. A fascinating discovery has been that Picasso saw the originals himself and was instrumental in recommending Wildenstein to purchase them.
