Lot Essay

This beaded costume was presented by a chieftain of the Blackfoot Indians to Gordon Mathews, a member of the North-Western Mounted Police (and great uncle of the present owner), in recognition of his assistance in establishing passes through the Rocky Mountains in Glacier National Park, Montana, during the last decade of the last century.
