Lot Essay

The elaborate decoration and bombé form of the present sander are typical of the late Baroque style of Trapani, and are similar to two salt cellars in the Museo Duca di Martina in Naples (inv. nos. 393 and 394), and to two ink wells in the Coralli, talismani sacri e profani exhibition in Trapani (op. cit.).
