The oval plate pierced with a typical design of cherry blossom and a trunk in nikubori, ji-sukashi and kebori, signed Sunagawa Masayoshi and kao, late Edo period (19th century); and the circular iron Hizen plate depicting fishermen in a seascape, carved in takabori, sukidashibori, inlaid in gold, copper and shakudo, the reverse with priests crossing a bridge, square mimi, signed Hishu ju Iehiro, mid Edo period (late 18th/early 19th century), with a wood box

The artist of the second piece, Iehiro, worked in Karatsu in Hizen province. He often used Jakushi style iron plate depicting distant landscapes or fishermen and flying geese.
