Seki Yoshinori was from Mutsu province. After visiting Shikoku, Higo
and Nagasaki, he settled in Edo at the age of 21. Some sources say
that he was self taught, but it is obvious that he had studied under
Kumagaya Yoshiyuki. He was accomplished in the takanikubori style
of Yoshiyuki and eventually originated his own style of carving.

Narishige received the title Yamashiro Daijo and used the family
name Tachibana. He was also a swordsmith and carved kirimono to
the blade.
