The circular tsuchime-ji plate decorated with Kanzan and Jittoku in takabori and sukidashi bori, gold and silver zogan, square mimi in gold fukurin

Lot Essay

Possibly the first generation Tsuji Mitsumasa who was born in Kyoho 6 (1721) and died in Anei 5 (1776) at the age of 56. He was the younger brother of Matatsuji Saemon. The family were also accomplished gun and abumi [stirrup] makers. He was a student of Yokoya Soyo in Edo and by studying the techniques of other schools he developed his unique style.
