The Yanagawa school was founded by Naomasa, who as a direct descendant of Somin followed the teachings of the Yokoya style, i.e. takabori iroe on a shakudo nanako ground.

Similar designs were used extensively by the Ishiguro school. See a fuchi-kashira by Ishiguro Koreyoshi in Joly, H L, Sword Fittings, (1912), no. 2106.
