Yoshitoshi was an artist from Mito who learned his art with the Namekawa. He often used the takabori iroe technique depicting figures. During his most prolific period it was fashionable to make fukuromono (metal boxes, etc.) and he made several with sword furniture. He later lived in Tokyo and died in 1958.
