The backing on the reverse of this miniature is inscribed "Valentin de Boderkher, (Consul Gedanenfis) peint par un maitre hollandais a Danzig en 1642 Ce superbe tableau, peint sur cuivre, est signé a gauche sur la draperie rouge"RN a droite se trouvent les armes de la famille de Boderkher, une ancienne famille prouffi enna avec la signature: V. V. B., (Valen-/tatis suae 25 A. (Anno) 1642."
