A MEISSEN GROUP OF THE LOVER DISCOVERED formed in two sections and after an original model by J. J. Kändler, formed as a lady and a gentleman on a couch wearing flowered night clothes, she holding a teacup and saucer to her lips whilst whispering to Cupid nestling under the cushions, her companion dropping his newsaper as he leans over to see a figure of a young man in his pyjamas, escaping with his jacket and shoes (her right foot detached, chips to bottom of drapery on couch, chip to base of separate figure), blue crossed swords mark, circa 1890
