A MEISSEN GROUP ALLEGORICAL OF SCULPTURE, modelled as three cherubs standing and seated beside a marble bust of a Roman empress on a high wooden table, one cherub holding a plaster torso, another drawing the bust on a marble slab, the third holding tools, on a shaped rocky base edged with a band of ribbon-tied laurel above a band of vitruvian scrolls (one instrument broken, chips to one wing-tip and to smaller extremities), blue crossed swords mark, Pressnummer 55, incised 4, painted number 56, circa 1880
