A PAIR OF GILT-METAL-MOUNTED SÈVRES-PATTERN DARK-BLUE-GROUND VASES AND COVERS with drum-shaped bodies and tall trumpet necks, the fronts painted with two cartouches of 18th Century figures paying court to each other in pastoral landscapes, the reverses similarly painted with buildings in watery landscapes, each within ciselé gilt and foliate-scroll outlines, the lower bodies moulded with flutes, on flared circular feet, mounted with grape finials, gadrooned rims, foliate-scroll handles suspending fixed laurel-wreaths and with satyr's mask terminals (slight scratches to paint and wear to gilding), imitation blue interlaced L marks, circa 1880
