A CONTINENTAL MAJOLICA JUG naturalistically modelled and coloured to imitate a cucumber with a knobbly skin, its tip upturned to form a handle and the curved base resting on leaves, the interior glazed in pink and the rim pierced for a pewter mount (three chips to foot, minor flakes to green glaze), 9¼in, (23.8cm.) high; a majolica rectangular basket of bombé form, moulded to imitate wicker-work bound with bamboo and with an overhead double-bamboo handle bound with lilac ribbon, the sides moulded with birds on branches and with two moths, on eight short feet; and a George Jones oval butter-dish and stand, the dark-brown ground moulded with wreaths of acorns, the undersides with a mottled tortoiseshell glaze (small chips to base, crack to stand), 17½in. (19cm.) wide, all late 19th Century (3)
