The central panel decorated with the figures of the sixteen arhats [disciples of Buddha] in takamakie of various golds, silver shibuichi and red lacquer with kirikane, some with attributes, including a tiger, a scroll, a bowl gushing water, a dragon, a tama, shakujo and hossu, the eyes of the arhats with red and black lacquered pupils, the edge of the tray is decorated in takamakie with a lotus-karakusa pattern and edge, the feet of the tray have silver rims
