Of flattened, squared baluster form, decorated with four shaped panels in takamakie on a kinji ground, the front with a peacock perched on an ancient plum tree, his tail inlaid with green, red and blue shell and a peahen on the ground beside the tree, the reverse with a group of monkeys, some of them dressed in kimono, two with fans and one with a shakajo, hauling and escorting a flower cart, each of the side panels with a pair of opposed dragons, details of the panels in silver and red lacquer, scrolling floral patterns between the panels, the neck of the vase with lotus plants in takamakie on a togidashi ground of shippo patterns, a band of formal dragons below the rim, the base sparse nashiji, with a removable metal lining
