The outer sheath decorated in gold takamakie, hiramakie e-nashiji and tsukegaki on a black ground, with a pavilion by the rocky shore of a lake, with the sails of boats appearing through a mist, with nashiji interior, fundame rims, the cases, like the sleeve, have unusual re-entrant mokko-like corners in nashiji, with a pictorial panel on each side, decorated in gold and red togidashi with kirikane and mura-nashiji, showing Seiobo with two attendants, one with a fan, the other with a tray of peaches, being met by Seiyei Koshu in a garden of the imperial court with three cranes standing beside them, fine dense nashiji interior, fundame rims
