In the early 1960s Jaguar became aware that they needed a restyled, large luxury saloon car with improved performance. In late 1961 the Mark X appeared and although similar in body style to earlier models was once again quite a triumph of styling design from Sir William Lyons making such a large vehicle appear graceful. Mechanically the car incorporated many of the technical innovations found on the new E-Type. In 1964 Jaguar developed the 4.2-litre engine and they fitted it into the current Mark X to improve its performance. In the autumn of 1966 the 420G was announced and was in fact only the Mark X renamed and identified from its predecessor by a chrome strip running from front to rear at waist height.

This example is in immaculate condition having been completely restored at a cost in the region of (40,000. There are several original documents available including the manufacturers warranty. The car spent some of its life in Santa Monica, California, but returned to Europe a few years ago.

No Reserve.
