AN ITALIAN SPORTING KNIFE with single-edged blade back-edged at the point and engraved with foliage involving hounds and a monster against a hatched ground, ricasso chiselled in bas relief with respectively a griffin and a lion, swelling handle formed of longitudinal strips alternately of silver and ribbed black and white sections of horn with twisted silver wire inlay, silver ferrule and cap, and the silver engraved throughout with foliage involving a bird and a monster, 18th Century; a composite dagger with blade of diamond section, ricasso etched with a mark, quillons with urn-shaped terminals, small trefoil-shaped side-ring, grooved pommel, and wire-bound grip; another, with double-edged blade, the hilt comprising vertically recurved quillons with downturned shell, barrel-shaped pommel and waisted grip (slightly damaged) both made hollow and separated by twisted wires, both 17th Century; and two left-hand daggers, both in early 17th Century style
