ANOTHER, with claw-shaped points behind the points of the axe-blade and on either side of the base of the flat claw-shaped fluke, the blade and fluke (split on one side) pierced with shaped slots, the latter struck with a mark, etched throughout at a later date with running foliage and, in the centre of each face, a double-headed eagle (etching rubbed), on wooden staff of square section, late 16th Century, probably German
