A FRENCH HUNTING SWORD with broad single-edged hollow-ground blade (rubbed and pitted) etched with a trophy of arms and signed 'Gibert Md. Fourbisseur Place Ste-Croix A Angers' on each face at the forte, the hilt with short reeded silver quillons with lobed tips, beaked ebony grip of Polish form (slight chips) with three silver ovals on each side and framed by a silver strap, in original leather-covered wooden scabbard with silver chape (loose) and locket, the former with silver button; another, similar, with plain blade, and ivory grip (scabbard missing), both with French silver marks, circa 1765
