A SWORD in 17th Century style, with double-edged blade struck three times on each face with a mark, crossed arrows in a crowned shield, and with two fullers on each face of the forte stamped respectively 'Heinrich Happen Me Fecit' and 'Heinrich Happen Solingen', gilt-brass hilt cast in relief with masks and foliage, guard comprising short quillons with fig-shaped terminals between oval side-rings, flattened oval pommel, and wooden grip set with longitudinal roped brass strips; and a 'transitional' small-sword with associated double-edged blade with narrow central fuller stamped respectively 'De Pedro Del' and 'Monte En Toledo', oval side-ring with knurled double central moulding, flattened fig-shaped pommel, fluted and with chiselled rosette on top, and later copper wire-bound wooden grip, German or Dutch, circa 1660
