A CLOSE-HELMET in 16th Century style, the rounded two-piece skull with low roped comb and holes for lining points, steel plume-pipe at rear and bevor locking-hook on the right, 'monkey face' visor with horizontal stepped sight divided centrally above a prognathous feature pierced with vertical slots, lifting-peg and spring locking-catch on the right, bevor pivoted at the same points, two gorget-plates front and rear, bottom ones working on sliding rivets and secured to each other by pin-catches at the sides, the lower edge recessed and roped, and domed steel rivets throughout (surface pitting overall)
