A GERMAN PERCUSSION RIFLED TARGET PISTOL with twist octagonal sighted barrel signed in gold, and with maker's stamp (lining missing) and silver line at the breech, scroll engraved tang and patent breech, the former numbered 2 and fitted with adjustable back-sight, scroll engraved lock, figured walnut half-stock carved with scrollwork in relief on the fore-end tip and fluted butt, engraved steel mounts of shaped outline engraved en suite with the lock, spur trigger-guard, and vacant silver escutcheon on the underside of the fore-end, by Johann Adam Kuchenreuter, Steinweg bei Regensburg, circa 1840
