A PAIR OF SILVER-MOUNTED GERMAN FLINTLOCK PISTOLS with sighted barrels numbered 1 and 2 on the breech and struck with brass-lined maker's mark MK, a coronet above, with two smaller brass-lined marks, a cross within a shield, signed flat bevelled locks each with stepped tail (one cock replaced and lacking its top jaw and screw), figured walnut full stocks (one cracked) carved with rococo decoration in relief, shaped silver mounts cast and chased with rococo scrollwork, wooden trigger-guards, horn fore-end caps, and original horn-tipped ramrods, by Mathias Karg (Karch), Hechingen, Württemberg, circa 1760 15 1/8in.
