A DAISHO, the daito honzukuri and torii-zori, ihorimune and chugissaki with itame hada, midare hamon, omaru boshi and suriage nakago with four mekugi-ana, unsigned, early 16th Century, 25¼in.; with roironuri saya (kojiri missing) decorated in gold hiramakie and coloured lacquer with Ebisu at the New Year, shakudo nanakoji fuchi-kashira with horses and flowers in takazogan and an iron mokkogata tsuba with kiku and basketwork pattern, the shakudo and gilt menuki formed as chrysanthemum sprays (saya slightly damaged), the shoto, honzukuri and torii-zori, with itame hada and midare hamon (several kizu), suriage nakago, inscribed Tamba and a kikumon, but probably Sekimono, probably 17th Century, 19¼in.; with roironuri saya decorated in hiramakie with Daikoku at New Year, shakudo nanakoji fuchi-kashira with Tanabata, shakudo and gilt menuki formed as aki-no-nanakusa and iron tsuba en suite matching the daito, and a 17th Century shakudo nanakoji kozuka (2)
