A FINE KATANA, the blade honzukuri and shallow torii-zori, ihorimune and chugissaki with itame-masame hada, sudare-midare hamon with profuse nie, komaru boshi and ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana, unsigned, possibly by Tamba no Kami Yoshimichi, 17th Century, 24½in.; with fine koshirae, comprising a mokume textured lacquer saya decorated with diagonal roironuri stripes, with long silver kojiri formed as a waterfall, saya kanamono of a bird in flight, silver ring attachment and silver koiguchi, fuchi and kashira, the last engraved with stylised clouds, the hanashi menuki formed as tigers, the silver-rimmed hishigata iron tsuba decorated in nunomezogan with a ship's anchor
