Proof 1977 Definitives, composite colour trial proofs on pieces of gummed paper (235x216mm.) showing colour bars at top and each dated "4 JUL 1976"; each sheet comprises a master and the set of seven values, with ten sheets of each in the following colours: - scarlet, ultramarine, yellow-orange, orange, lime-green, pale blue and bright mauve, and a similar batch of sheets (284x167mm.) without colour bars. Virtually all proofs crossed through in pen and a few sheets with the odd impression excised. Also an enlarged handpainted head and shoulders portrait of the Amir similar to that used for this issue.
