manuscript on ivory paper, 344ff. plus three flyleaves, each with 15ll. of strong black naskh within black-bordered gold clouds, punctuation in red, gold roundels between verses, black and gold margins within black rules, outer band containing diagonal lines of black nasta'liq commentary within a gold and polychrome illuminated border, the juz' and sura name written in red in the top outer corners, some folios with blue, black and gold half-medallions along the edge, sura headings in blue on gold cartouches within blue and gold illuminated panels, (negligible smudging, very occasional repairs), opening bifolio illuminated with a gold, red, blue and black lattice containing the 99 names of God, the following bifolio illuminated in blue, gold and orange with central inscription medallions, the third bifolio illuminated in gold and polychrome round the opening suras (two small areas of smudging), ff.160v. and 161r. and the final bifolio of text similarly illuminated, following bifolio illuminated as second, final bifolio with gold medallions and pendants in plain gold border with inscriptions in red, black lacquer cover with gold and polychrome floral design (minor repairs), lacquer doublures similar
