a Shi'ite commentary on the Qur'an, abridged from the author's original work of five volumes, manuscript on ivory paper, 517ff. plus four flyleaves. each with 12ll. of flowing black naskh within gold clouds, punctuation in red, plain gold roundels between verses, gold margins between black rules, blue outer rule, similar outer margin, gold and black ruled outermost margin, black interlinear rules, Persian interlinear translation in red nasta'liq, diagonal lines of red and black text within gold clouds between the two margins, with blue and gold illumination in the corners and middle with the juz' marked in red, half-medallions along the edge of some folios, the sura name written in blue on gold cartouches at the top of each folio, sura headings in blue on gold cartouches in illuminated panels, (occasional smudging, minor wear, pages trimmed), opening bifolio of Qur'anic text exquisitely illuminated in gold and polychrome, approximately 53ff. throughout the text with unusual blue and gold floral and/or boteh illumination containing text, the preface similar, final bifolio fully illuminated, f.516r. with colophon written in red, blue and black on gold, signed by Mirza Hasan and dated 1225, purple velvet binding with gold and black meandering vine morocco border (minor damages to spine),
